Have you ever experienced going to an unfamiliar place and when you get there, this fuzzy feeling in your heart creeps in and suddenly, you know you belong there? yeah, that’s how I felt when I first went to Ilocos.
It’s already my second time here in one of the most northern regions of the Philippines and I gotta say, it already has a special place in my heart.
This time, I finally took the liberty to bring my camera with me. The first time I went there, I was too lazy to bring my camera with me lol I now learned my lesson.
Of course, we stopped by Vigan, Ilocos Sur first. I don’t really recommend strolling around Vigan when the sun is at it’s peak. What me and my family do is we wake up super early to have breakfast then stroll around Vigan in the morning and then when it’s already noon, we go to our hotel room and rest and then when it’s dusk already, we’d go around Vigan again until late at night! (Also, my fave thing to do in Vigan is explore the quaint little cafés hehe)
After staying in Vigan for 2 days, we immediately went to Ilocos Norte. We usually stay in Pagudpud when we’re in Ilocos Norte so before heading to Pagudpud, we went to Bangui first for the Windmills! Of course, I wouldn’t miss it for the world!
Bangui Windmills really has a special place in my heart. During our whole stay in Ilocos Norte, we went here twice. I kept pestering my parents to go back here again and again lmao they were already annoyed!
After Bangui, we headed straight to Pagudpud where we will be staying for 3 days. We stayed at Casa Consuelo and I must say, me and my family fell in love with this place! Casa Consuelo really has this home-y vibe plus the food is great and the staff is really nice.

Overlooking Maira-ira beach.
When we got to Maira-ira beach that day, the waves were quite wild.
Driving past Patapat Viaduct, we discovered Panzian beach.
We were too lazy to take a closer look at Panzian beach but next time, i’ll make a mental note to myself to actually visit this beach!
Overall, our trip to Ilocos was super amazing! We managed to catch the Super Moon by the beach and it was heavenly! Can’t wait to go back.
